It takes less than a minute to lodge an enquiry with the BYDA referral service. In this article we’ll tell you how.
You can also watch a short introductory video that steps you through the process of lodging an enquiry.
You lodge an enquiry with the BYDA referral service to find out which utilities, councils and other organisations have assets in the area you intend to work. After you have lodged your enquiry, the details are passed along to all relevant asset owners and they will in turn send you information about any underground infrastructure at or around your job site.
Follow these simple steps to lodge your enquiry: –
- Select the Lodge New Enquiry option from the dashboard or main menu
- Locate the area of your job site by using the address search tool
- Sketch the boundary of your job site on the map using the drawing tools
- Fill in the information about your planned activity including the start and end dates
- Hit the Lodge enquiry button to finish
- That’s it! You’ll be taken to a page showing all the asset owners with an interest in your job site
Note: If this is your first time lodging an enquiry in the BYDA referral service you may be asked for your address and phone number. This is important information allowing asset owners to contact you regarding your works. These details get stored on your user profile so you don’t have to enter them every time.
After you have lodged your enquiry, notifications are sent to each of the asset owners with an interest in your job. Responses from each asset owner will be emailed back to you. You can keep track of the status of each asset owner’s response through the My enquiries page. A tick will be shown next to each asset owner that has replied and an estimated wait time next to enter who are still pending.
